We almost lost Bochum tells the story of Ruhrpott AG, the best German hip hop band that never made the leap into collective consciousness. A film about friendship, hip hop, life and death in the Ruhr area. 20 years after the release of their classic Unter Tage, RAG takes stock. With just two LPs, rappers Aphroe, Pahel and Galla and producer Mr. Wiz left their mark on the big German rap boom of the 90s. Two decades later, the film follows the former band members from the deepest Ruhr region to Washington DC. Julian Brimmers and Benjamin Westermann document the band's career and their first concerts in 15 years and shed light on the tragic death of RAG member Galla. Companions such as Jan Delay, Kool Savas, Marteria, Curse, Die Kassierer, Retrogott, STF, Creutzfeld & Jakob, Stieber Twins, MC Rene, Stephan Szillus and many more have their say.
